Head Early Years

Born and brought up in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, Mrs. Divya Singh attended Loreto Convent School during the preliminary years of her education. She then went on to study English and Education at Lucknow University in Awadh Girls Degree College. She received her Master’s in Geography from Isabella Thoburn College, Lucknow University, but ultimately chose to pursue a career in Education. Her learning experience was not limited to the years of her formal schooling as she took various vocational and professional courses over the years such as the “Montessori Teacher’s Training Program” and the Introductory Cambridge Primary English Course.

Divya’s career as an educator has spanned over 24 years (1997-2021) and continues to flourish. Within this time frame, she has worked at 5 different schools in 3 different cities, showcasing the versatility of her experience as well as her ability to adapt to change. She started her teaching career at City Montessori School, Lucknow as a class teacher and an English teacher. She then went on to work at Delhi Public School, Gurgaon, as a primary teacher before becoming the Coordinator at Shri Ram Centennial School, Dehradun. She also worked as an English teacher at the Doon International School before joining The Oberai School of Integrated Studies, Dehradun.

Mrs. Divya believes that education is an ever-evolving field that caters to the changes experienced by each generation in terms of learning styles and methods. Her vast career has enabled within her a sense of the trends of this field, that she tries to utilise on a daily basis. Being well-versed in the different methods of teaching implemented across several years and several states of our nation, she personally believes in the hands-on or Experiential method of learning, but also hopes to incorporate the best of all teaching methods as she progresses in this field. She considers teaching more of responsibility than a job; one that she hopes to fulfill wholeheartedly and sincerely.
